This morning I spent 3 hours trying to make it work and eventually called the ASUS technical support line and was informed that "no, you'll need a different model, because that product won't work with your computer."
I went into this location today to purchase a new keyboard for work. I knew exactly which one I wanted, and knew where to find it. They thankfully had this item in stock, and it was even cheaper than online!
However, the part that is really making this experience a bad one is it took me nearly 25-30 minutes to pay for my item. The checkout line was piling up because the cashier chose to talk about video games with a person he was checking out than trying to call for help or let us know that he will be with us shortly. Coming up on the holiday season i would expect that Best Buy, a major retailer, would try to have their store staff equipped to handle a checkout line. By t he time that i was able to pay for my item, the first cashier still hadn't cashed out the first guy he was talking to about video games. By the end I saw 5 other people waiting to be cashed out when i left.
Not only did the sales associate give me completely wrong information, when I tried to return it I had to wait for a half an hour while the customer service staff tried to decide what to do with the two people ahead of me in the line. VERY slow service, then I found out that Best Buy doesn't even have the model that I needed, so I had to eventually buy it online.
I THOUGHT they had what I needed, but when I got it home, it didn't work. I explained to the sales assistant exactly what I was trying to do, I even questioned him on whether it would work with an older computer and he assured me that it would.
Best Buy always rocks, they are only getting 4 stars because they have a sort of disconnect between what they sell online vs. what is in store. I do most of my browsing online and then go into the store once I decide on my final purchase. I have found that when I do this, they don't have the item I want (even though the website says they have it in stock) or there is disparity between stores i.e. one store happily held a laptop up front for me to pickup where another store told me "they couldn't do that". Otherwise, they have a great selection, you can find awesome prices online AND they price match for you if you find another item (this includes Amazon) and I love that part.
I have been going to this Best Buy since I was little and no where else do they have customer service like this place. I'm not just talking about other tech companies; I'm saying that this is the best Best Buy I've been to. They are willing to work with you on any issues you have on a device, they are extremely knowledgable about their inventory (especially compared to the other Best Buys), and they're always fair on returns, prices, and anything else.
If you can fix the customer service side of Best Buy it would actually be a pleasant shopping experience.
It's a Best Buy, if you need something in a hurry and can't wait for it from an online vendor then it dose in a pinch. The store has average up keep and is clean. We stopped here because when traveling our phone mount broke, and as our phone is our GPS we needed to correct the situation quick. This Best buy had 2 window mounted options and we choose the one that fit our needs best.
