Because we traded in our van, we can't even change our minds at this point. They've already taken our van and we have to have a car. They know our hands are tied.
Jimmy is a boss! He helped me get out my upside down loan on a 10 year old car and into a spotless, practically new, used vehicle with low miles. I didn’t have the best credit to work with but he worked hard to come up with a deal that made sense. The underwriter Grier I worked with was also a class act and went to bat for me with the banks to secure me a good interest rate. At this point we agree to sign for the more expensive car at the higher rate, because our credit isn't awesome and we can't go carless. I started crying as I realized there is not much we can do.
We went in to possibly trade in our van and get something smaller. After a full day of test drives, haggling, more haggling and paperwork we left with a car I liked well within our price range.
Never ever again will we buy a car through any Larry H Miller dealership. We have had a nightmare experience working with this dealership. They called us back in August to tell us they had changed ownership and wanted to give us a better experience than our first time shopping there. (Our first time was awful and we should have known better than to come back)
We go in, understandably upset and they present us one option to change to. It's a nice car so we agree, and then have to go through haggling all over again. They tell us it's all taken care of, they give us the interest rate and terms and we sign.
Buying my first car was nerve-wrecking and a bit intimidating, but the people here made the process easy and very comfortable for me! Any question I had they answered in great detail. They got me the best deal possible despite my new credit. Ladies, I didnt feel like I was being ripped off because I'm a female. And above all, I love my car!
So there we are, my kids asking why I'm crying in the middle of this dealership. Because their dishonest, bait and switch tactics. I will tell literally every person I can to not go here. Don't do it. So many choices go elsewhere.
3 weeks goes by and we get another call that we have to come in and sign our paperwork. We were confused because we have now dogged twice. We go in today and lo and behold they've changed our terms and our payment went up again!! At this point we're $50 over the monthly payment budget we had given them.
2 weeks of driving it later we get a call saying they can't get a bank to fund it on that car so we have to come pick a different car.
I highly recommend Stan Ure at Larry H. Miller used cars in Murray. He took us to most of their dealerships here in the valley to make sure we found the car we wanted. He was great to work with and made it as painless as possible. I will definitely buy from Stan again in the future!
